My site got hacked a couple of weeks ago. That was fun. But everything has now been cleaned and mostly restored. I was even able to streamline some online/behind-the-scenes things and freshen up my site a bit in the process. So that was a win.
Anyway, while updating my social media links, I spent a few minutes on my Vimeo site and found a video that I recorded two years ago. A video of me doing a spoken word piece that I wrote called “Be Free.” But you know what I did two years ago after I recorded the video? I put the video on private mode so no one could see it. In fear. The poem is called “BE FREE.” Do you catch the irony?
So I just unprivatized it.
Truth about me is, I like to write poetry. I like to do the spoken word. I feel odd in the spoken word arena because I don’t live life in spoken word verse. I don’t go around talking to my kids or the grocery store clerk in spoken word format. But something within me comes alive when I write and speak the words God inspires me to put on paper.
Here’s the challenge.
So in efforts to actually live the words I wrote, I’m sharing the poem with you. Because I’m certain that God has prompted some of you to do something or say something or create something that in fear you’ve kept hidden or undone.
But maybe today, we could all be a little more free to be and do what He’s created us to be and do.

Fill me, Lord…
Has God ever prompted you to do something but in fear you either didn’t do it, or you left it undone? Want to share what it was? Sharing is therapeutic. Just sayin’.

Sorry it took me 13 days to say thank you. But thank you, Sarah.

Wow! Thank you. That was stunningly beautiful and perfectly timed for me somewhat timid heart…it knows these things, but isn’t living fully the way it should quite yet. Thanks for the nudge!

Timidity. I definitely get that. May His Spirit inspire and empower us to walk boldly in step with Him.
