Seriously. Thanksgiving has come and gone? Unbelievable. Proof again that time flies and one day I will say, with every other seasoned mother on the planet, “Trust me. Your kids will be grown before you know it.” Even though some days feel as if they move backwards in time.
That said, I have three writing projects that I feel led to complete before the first of the year. So something has to give. And since Christmas is coming, and since I can’t lock myself in a closet for a month, and since my family still needs to eat and have clean laundry and decent toilets and…my attention, the thing I’m setting down until those other things are finished is the blog.

It seems like the right thing to do even though I totally miss this space when I step away. However, I want to give you a glimpse of what’s coming! One, so you can pray for me while I follow God’s lead, and two, so you can hopefully get excited with me. Because I’m excited.
The first thing is { d r u m r o l l } that prayer website I mentioned the other day!
God has put such an excitement in me for this project. I’m currently praying about and developing the team that will serve behind the scenes. As well as praying about the content and format of the site itself.
While you wait for the site to launch in January, you can go ahead and sign up for the free weekly email! Our vision is that each weekly email will have a prayer focus with a suggested prayer “schedule” for that week. Just click this link and enter your email information. Then you will be the first to know when the site goes live!
You can also Like the new Facebook page by clicking here. We hope to use that social space to spur on conversation and prayer as well as build community.
{ Let’s s t a n d i n t h e g a p , ladies, for our homes, families, churches, nation, and world! }
Second, I’m developing that short “Life Giver blog series” I wrote into a 4-week Bible study that will be offered for F R E E to my blog readers. Yep. Free. Because we all like free stuff. Here’s a glimpse of the cover…
(If you aren’t already subscribed to my blog but you don’t want to miss this Bible study release, then you may want to subscribe now. It’s free and you can unsubscribe at any time. Just click here.)
I’m keeping the third project on the DL because suspense is good. But prayers are much appreciated for that as well.
While I’m away, if you’re craving to read a blog, I’m going to point you to five of my favorites. Actually, we call ourselves the “Blog Mastermind” group. Doesn’t that sound James Bondish? These girls and I have found a fun groove of encouragement and prayer and laughter and blogging wisdom. Check them out and subscribe to their amazingness.
(In no particular order…except alphabetical by first name.)
- Amy Andrews :: Amy knows all things technical. (So…she’s probably going to regret being Voxer friends with my technologically-challenged self.) She’s also amazingly personal and prayerful. So it’s a pleasure to point you her way.
- Heather MacFadyen :: AKA the “God-Centered Mom”. Heather not only pours out wisdom, the girl cracks. me. up. Mom of four boys, she’s full of anecdotes and advice. Plus she recently started the new GCM podcast. Check her out!
- Katie Orr :: Where can I begin with Katie? God brought us together through HelloMornings over three years ago (three? I think three) and we’re still going strong with Bible study collaborations and speaking endeavors. And…well…she also gets an earful of my technological woes. I’m totally blessed to call her a friend.
- Kat Lee :: Kat, the Inspirer to Action. She deserves a cape. I can’t tell you how many times Kat has inspired me personally. She has this way of elevating and promoting everyone else above herself. It’s so beautiful and humbling. Plus she has such practical ideas. I love it. If you don’t know her yet, start today.
- Stacey Thacker :: Stacey absolutely has the gift of encouragement. The homeschooling mom of four beautiful little ladies, she’s full of wisdom. And her most recent book, “Being OK with Where You Are”, such a blessing. (Plus she spurs me on in my dreams of becoming a rapper so I pretty much love her forever.)
So there you have it. Blogs to visit. Ladies to love on. Projects to pray for.
And can I just say, I’m so thankful for you. I mean that. God has graciously gifted me with your kindness. Consider this a virtual hug.
