I’ve had a couple of busy weekends speaking to some amazing ladies, including my church family. (Which I lovingly decided to call the “Westovarians”…cause we go to Westover…and we’re women. Love you, girls!) And I have one more speaking engagement ahead where I will travel west to see some Texas gals. Can’t wait, Richardson, TX!
All that to say, with the love I need and want to give to my family over these next few days, mixed with the pile of laundry that beckons my attention, I have to set the blog on the back burner until next week.
But, we have to do that at times — lay certain things down to accomplish other things well.
Know that I will miss clicking away on this space. And know that I will be praying for you. (I mean that.)
But until next week, know again and again, that God embroidered you — His beautiful creation. He loves you with an everlasting, pursuing love. He remains in complete control. And if you have received His gift of salvation, then His Spirit seals you. The Spirit of the Most High — empowering you to walk these days in victory. So raise that Sword of His Word, my friends. And fight for what is rightfully yours in Christ. Abundant living.
Much love to you!
For those joining me to memorize Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, we have almost completed chapter 5! So keep on, friends. Our verses for this week are:
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
Matthew 5:44-46
Fill me, Lord…
Is there something He’s prompting you to “lay down”?
What truths do you preach to yourself again and again and again?
Emily says
Praying for continual filling for you as you do love on your family and fulfill your “duties” at home, amongst preparing to faithfully minister again next weekend. May it be a true blessing. I love you, person.

Thank you, my “person.” 😉

Just stopping by to give you love and hugs. You’re an incredible woman of God.

Hope you’re doing well, Janelle. Good to “see” you.

As the saying goes “we can have it all, just not all at once”… Or something like that. Thank you for intentionally putting your family first. I was wondering how you broke into being a public speaker. I’d like to do this but feel awkward “pushing myself” onto people. I’m definitely NOT saleswoman material (hence, several failed direct sales businesses). I don’t wanna sell someone something, I want to share truth. How did you get your start?
Lara Gibson Williams says
Hmm. Well, it sounds like the church answer but seriously God did it. He placed the “calling” on me about ten years ago while I was at seminary. But He didn’t release me into that call until after He shed so much from me, down some deep valleys. Over those early years I just followed my mom’s advice,”bloom where you are planted.” I really believed that as I remained faithful to use my gifts in my local church that He would expand my borders…eventually. And He has. My advice to you would be to just keep using your gifts where He has you today. He will open wide the doors He wants you to walk through. Blessings!
