For the next 35ish Sundays (Lord willing) I will post the weekly verses for those joining me on my slightly insane plan in efforts to abide in God’s Word, namely to memorize Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount”. I will personally memorize from the English Standard Version (ESV).
I also designed a button for those of you who want to add it to your own blogs (if you have one). If you don’t, you could just print it out and…tape it to your forehead or something.
I would encourage you to write these verses on three or four index cards and place them in prominent places. Then keep repeating them. If you want more tips on Scripture memory you can check out MemVerse.com or DoNotDepart. We also take a chapter in Savoring Living Water to talk about memorizing the Word.
OK, friends. Nothing is impossible with our great God. In Him we can do this thing.
(1) Seeing the crowds, He went up on the mountain, and when He sat down, His disciples came to Him. (2) And He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: (3) “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:1-3

Francie, just let me know if you want to be in the Facebook group with the other girls memorizing with us. There is a link in today’s post. Yay!

Tape it on our foreheads. I like that. One Bible verse at a time for me, and I’m currently working on Romans 8. Next, maybe the Sermon on the Mount. 🙂 ~Nita

I’m so excited that you are memorizing the Sermon on the Mount. I started to do this last year but did not get past Matt. 5:5 (Thank you distractions). I’m definitely joining in.

Hi! It is my first time saying hello here… I will try to follow you all (I had already planned to memorize Titus with some of my friends starting on February), and if I don’t memorize The Sermon of the Mountain, at least I will meditate on it every week.
I am grateful for women who love the Word of God and long to keep it in their heart. May God help us to live it and do not depart.
Blessings
