teaching women to think on true things

the danger of Bible study

We have to guard our hearts. The routine of Bible study (or any other “discipline”) can squelch true passion for The Lord. Routine can give the illusion of intimacy to the neglect of relationship.

So how do we restore true intimacy with God if the routine of life has stolen deep, authentic relationship?

I’m hanging out over at the HelloMornings blog today talking about this very thing. Click here to read more.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Psalm 63:1

And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, (Jesus) departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
Mark 1:35
