In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith – more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire – may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:6 – 1:7 ESV)
As God’s children we are not at the mercy of the enemy’s schemes. We will only go through the trials that the Omniscient One deems necessary, out of His great love, for the testing of the genuineness of our faith. Believing Him stirs hope even in the midst of the fire.

Blessings to you today as you walk by faith and not by sight.
Fill me, Lord…
What do those two words “if necessary” do to your faith as you go through various trials?
