I think that’s why my dear friend’s new book ministered so much to me. Stacey Thacker wrote an encouraging, perspective-altering book, releasing this week, called Being OK With Where You Are. She gave me a pre-release copy to review and honestly, the words that God gave her for these pages blessed me deep.

    I would love to read this! I struggle with the disappointment that I cannot be perfect with the perfect house and perfect kid (perfectionist much?…)

    What an awesome book – I like the part that recognises “everyone has experienced disappointment when life hasn’t gone exactly as we had hoped or dreamed”. As a single woman in my thirties, I often feel the pressure of not being married or having had kids. It’s refreshing to know that we all experience disappointment to some degree, even married people. It’s intrinsic and rather than be discouraged I love that Stacey has brought people together through this common denominator.

    Thanks also Lara for this outstanding, well written blog page! So far, my favourite has been the article about compliments with reference to Corrie Ten Boom.

      What truths about God help you to overcome that disappointment? I trust God 100 % that he has the best plan for me. He can see the bigger picture and I don’t need to ever second guess his work.

    I would love to win it… I was there too. Dissapointed a lot but God has been so gracious and good to me & my family. Couple of weeks ago I felt dissapointed because of our circumstances we are now, but I only need Him to go through my dissapoinment and He will help me to find the true joy.
